Caie and Lagora – Porcelan Ep

Caie “Lars Pärschke” and John Lagora “Tim Wucherpfennig” got together in 2008 to take off in the year 2009. They conjoin House with Techno and customize it to their own style. They are still young producers but already present very nice quality. Both are still working fervently on new mixtures to bring the crowds of the whole world to dance. Furthermore one can be anxious for their new, intended live act, which will be presented soon.
Porcelain Ep has been released a couple of days and can be considered their best performance till now. They shine off with two very good tracks and a fabulous rework by SIS. “Miss Wonderfull” goes a bit housy, but I can see Dj’s like Villalobos playing this at some open air partys. “Breakdown” is quite a good one, more adaptable to our standars, with it’s groovy rude beat and some perfect neurotic elements in the back. But when SIS gets his hands into it, it comes completely different. A 15 minutes SIS remix! Amazing! Smashed the Ibiza floors this year… it has all you can beg for in music, it transmits such feelings in such subtle moments, and the rhythm was not forgotten, neither the beat! Perfect one… reminds me a lot Luciano past productions. It’s an unbelievable track that all of you should know (and buy). Released by Material Series.

Chris Lattner – Definition

Einmaleins is back with another flawless release with Chris Lattner leading the decks. It’s this German’s producer second Ep being released but his previous one has had an enormous success, being played by dj’s like Galuzzi, Villalobos, Mathias Kaden, among otehrs. “Definion” of me and of you will only be released in february but can already be bought at wordandsound. If you like typical German deep minimal grooves you’ll surely like this… the Ep starts with “Definition of you” in the A side, it’s really one of those old school mnml house tracks with a great beat and some anthem vocals (”For the love of house”) reminding us what the better days where all about. In the B side Chris presents some Introspection with “Definion of Me” and the result couldn’t be much better than this. A deep minimal tech cut with a wonderfull bass line and step by step construction just as we like here in minimaland. A certain boost in every dancefloor, supported by Anthony Collins, 2000 and One, Karotte, Magda, Kaden, Nick Curly and Someone Else. Einmaleins did it again!

Loco Dice – The Lab 01

Leading UK house/techno label NRK Music unveil ‘The Lab’, a brand new compilation series with the inaugural mix compiled by none other than Loco Dice.

Joining legendary comps such as ‘Coast2Coast’ and ‘Back In The Box’, ‘The Lab’ will be a double CD of forward thinking electronic dance music from the most dynamic artists around, which is why the Tunisian born and Dusseldorf raised Loco Dice has been drafted in.

The last few years have seen ‘Dice release singles on M_Nus, Cocoon and Cadenza as well as an acclaimed debut artist album via his own Desolat imprint but the ‘The Lab’ see’s the behemoth slip behind the decks to showcase his skills as one of the world’s greatest DJs.

Shunning trends and fads Loco Dice simply plays house music or “deep, groovy, chunky, driving, 123 Music for the terrace” as he describes it. Here, on ‘The Lab’ he showcases exactly what that means with a 2 hour + mix which includes 27 faultless tracks within 2 very different discs.

Disc One concentrates on the darker club moments; otherworldly and hypnotic grooves from the likes of Terrence Dixon, Kerri Chandler, Second Hand Satellites and Robert Dietz. Bass heavy, heads down and percussive, this mix highlights everything that is exciting about modern house music.

Disc Two ploughs a deeper house path, winding things down a little from Disc One’s upfront and urgent selection. Many familiar names make up this second mix; dance veterans such as Nick Holder, 95 North, Audio Soul Project, Tyree Cooper and Terry Lee Brown Jr mix it up with Franck Roger and Alix Alvarez beats as well as contemporary deepness from Sascha Dive and Daso & Pawas.

All in all, mightily impressive stuff from Loco Dice, and yet another feather in the cap of the ever consistent NRK Music.

Martin Eyerer – Cave Canem

image004When Martin Eyerer tells a story, everybody listens. Martin reports of his journeys throughout the continents, telling stories of wild escapades in a taxi across the Brazilian jungle through to the impressions of Earth’s capitals and the colourful array of citizens that inhabit them, and obviously of his many Gigs in these foreign lands. Those foreign places quickly become familiar territory when he sets up his digital DJ-system and starts to play that thumping first track because what he plays is groovy Electro-Tech House and the sound is a world language of its own that is euphorically absorbed through sweaty pores and pumping glands.
His passion is eminently clear when he starts to talk about his experiences and such is his passion and enthusiasm for the music that one could easily think it was all totally new to him. But it isn’t. Martin Eyerer has been a DJ for 20 years – and just as many years a producer, label owner, radio show producer. Throw in his two young children and it seems that the energy never leaves his side.
Finally the second single out of Martin Eyerer’s highly acclaimed debut album “Word Of Mouth”. A huge peaktime clubmonster determined by that very different steel drums melody. With a great new Club mix from Martin himself and fantastic remixes by Robert Babicz aka Rob Acid, Daniele Papini and Someone Else. Heavily supported here on minimaland! Eyerer is clearly one of the finest producers in the scene! let’s wait for the album to see what the man can really do. To be released by Kling Klong Records on February

——-Tracklist——–

1. Martin Eyerer – Cave Canem (Club Mix)
2. Martin Eyerer – Cave Canem (Daniele Papini Remix)
3. Martin Eyerer – Cave Canem (Robert Babicz aka Rob Acid Remix)

Miss Jools mixes the 3rd Mobilee’s ‘Back To Back’ series

b2bv3-frontcover-rgb-300dpi The third time is, indeed, always a charm and Back to Back Vol. 3, mobilee’s third installment of the Back to Backcompilation series, proves just that!

Back to Back Vol. 3 combines the id, ego and superego of the selected 2008 tracks produced by mobilees, remixed by various other artists and then mixed again by Miss Jools in a 2-disc spectacular: CD1 is an unmixed selection of 2008 mobilee tracks, all handpicked by Miss Jools, while CD2 welcomes a list of her favorite producers to remix their picks of the mobilee pack with an additional Miss Jools spin. Inside, a vivacious mixture of deep house tracks, loopy house tools, and down right funky and groovy tracks can be heard. The evolution of the Back to Back compilation series has greatly transpired since the Vol. 1 mobilee-only in-house remix session by Anja Schneider. GummiHz mixed together around 30 tracks, creating loops, editing mobilee tracks and using various cool tools on Vol. 2 and now Miss Jools has invited talents from the likes of Cassy, Tobias, Nick Curly, Dinky, D’Julz, Efdemin, Christian Burkhardt, Vincenzo, Sven Tasnadi and Solomun, extending the musical preference.

“Each artist that is a part of the compilation has their own unique individual style which I admire and respect in their productions and which also reflects largely what I play in my own DJ sets. This being the reason to bring these artists together and collaborate for the compilation,” said Miss Jools. Miss Jools, aka Berlin-based Julia Porter, has been on the grind ever since she left London and joined the ranks of mobilee in the summer of 2008. And she’s been successfully winnings the hearts of Berlin’s top players in a short time, not to mention, landing the role of the 3rd Back to Back artist. “Following on from Anja and Gummihz’s previous B2Bs was a hard act to follow, but a great challenge for me.
Mobilee has achieved so much over the past years, and has such an impressive catalogue of amazing music from all their artists”

Avid electronic music listeners will be treated to valleys of sounds beyond minimal with hip-twisting tracks like Sebo K’s ‘Diva’, a remix of Pan-Pot’s genius wonder, ‘Charly’ and Miss Jools’ latest track ‘La Luna’ original or remixed, including many others mixed by Miss Jools’ posse. The greatest thing about this compilation is that the work from every mobilee producer from this past year is featured either in original or remixed versions.

Masomenos – Matou Ep

image_slide_show_new_38344The duo is back in the game. Masomenos present Matou Ep to delight all of you. If you don’t know this unknown project from France you should be ashamed of yourself.  This guys are the revolution, everything they do seems to be magnificent and this is another example of their fine deliverance. To raise the bets higher they invited another amazing producers to remix the first track, they are Kreon & Lemos, the Greek duo, one of the best things that happened in the scene during 2008. Matou Ep is filled with 3 tracks, all of them in the cutting edge of minimal techno.
I’ll start with the last cause that’s my favorite one… “One Inch a Day” has got a vocal that we all known ( i don’t remember from where…) and a rude dry beat that makes everything else look obsolete… it’s surely the purest thing i listened during January… i can’t get tired of it! The  beat, omg the beat! Unmissable. “Hands Up” remixed by Masomenos, Kreon and Lemos is the track that opens up the Ep and it’s also a very nice one, lot’s of pumpy energy and the typical Kreon & Lemos deep beat, perfect to enhance the groove among the dancefloor. “NY” follows through the same paths! … The major key of this album and the reason why i’m posting this here is “One Inch A Day”, the track of the year so far! Release nr7 on Welcome to Masomenos..

Maetrik – They Love Terror Ep

treib84a_blackThe lavish flow of neurotransmitters rules once again on Maetrik‘s newest masterpiece, but this time around, the baroque feeling of decay has been scaled back in favor of a more efficient approach to his trademark straightjacket funk.

The shock corridor has been cleaned up, the psychotic boosts have been dampened, but still the subliminal euphoria switches frequently to some sexy paranoia.

Being the soundtrack of hot-wired neurons this music works on a more psychological level than the superficial gore of the contemporary techno regime.

Joyfully the basses plunge into the deepest abyss, while the hi-hats gnaw away at your unstable nerves and the synths tell a dark story about strange beings in the twilight.

The question if this is only some sort of hallucination will presumably not be answered, but never a neurochemical imbalance sounded sexier than on this record. It‘s survival horror on the dancefloor and we love it. Released onTreibstoff..
