Camea – Happy Ending

Camea Hoffman is back to Clink Music with a real bomb. I’m able to say that this will be have a massive success in the dancefloors that don’t like to follow comercial roots. This work is composed by 5 tracks, 2 of them with digital access only. “Happy ending” will be a huge hit troughout those parties in this upcoming spring. It’s very danceable from the beggining till the end, with the right breaks at the right time, ending with the recycling of the first part of the track but with a special glow of an happy ending where a loop of a vocal, an heavy bass line and a good selection of smooth beats, all of them very well interconnected in what to concerns to that special vibe that we all like to feel. Reminding the rude vocals of Marc Houle we have this “Computer says love” with the typical 4×4 rhythm, a fine underground feeling where the dancefloors will live in a 6 minutes of pure brain stimulation. In what matters Alexi Delano remix, both versions are pretty identicals in matters of rythms and structure of the track, changing some electronical effects in the second version. Trying to do something at his taste, it gives a more rough life to the computers of Camea. Ending we have Insideout, an excelent track for an after-hours session, this one is possibly on the cases of djs like Ata!

Minilogue – My Teenager Gang

Marcus Henriksson & Sebastian Mullaert got back to Mule Musiq to produce another dub minimal hit! After “Animals” we may think that they would slow down on production but that’s not what happened. In fact their first release of 2009 brings more from the same: strong drums, deep basslines and some neurotic keyboard effects gathered with carefully chosen samples. In the A side you will listen “My Teenager Gang”, a dubby track, charged with lot’s of bass and some tribal elements: some birds singing, conga rhythms and some great world music chants leading you to the impression that you’re on a music safary around Africa. They all combine perfectly in the whole 10 minutes of this great production, it’s really a master exotic techno dub cut. On the flip “Hundraelva” bets on other kind of roots where synths make the difference. This one reminds me a lot “Hitchhiker’s Choice” or some Cadenza productions, jazzy tones are everywhere getting along with some hypno plastic surfaces ready to terr u apart!
This two tracks are some of the reasons of why i love Minilogue. They are able to do such different things always with pure quality. Their background on Progressive Psychedelic Trance must have helped them to create such different and good environments. If you like pure music don’t miss this Ep.

Alejandro Vivanco – Nachtstring

The Chilean producer is back! The guy who created “Rojo Pomodoro” shows up once again to deliver two precious tracks full of passionate grooves and tribal techy house rhythm. The first track “Nachstring” is something very special, a long length one that starts with some twisted piano chords and a genuine 4×4 beat, very dry, very danceable. The percussion is always an essential part to this kind of tracks, and I bet that as soon as you start listening it your feet will start moving to the beat. In fact this is one of his finest works up to date, 10 minutes of ice breaking music, hitting the floors perfectly. Unmissable!
On the flipside Vivanco offers another massive turn-on. It’s not as hynotic as the first but it contains some high level psyched synths and an amazing percussive beat that will drive you mad. I really think that this kind of tracks can only be done by the Chilean crue – Villalobos, Luciano and Alejandro. 10th release of International Freakshow, already supported by Loco Dice, Luciano, Karotte, Johnny D, Mathias Kaden and 2000 and One.

Audio Werner – Easygoing

This label who, last year had only one work released is back in great shape, with the Ep being held by one of my favorite producers.. Sometimes it’s better to release just a few bombs from time to time than to release an Ep every single month and this work prooves it… I’m talking about Tom Ellis and his work “Concentrate.” This disct titled “easygoing” is their first work published this year , a great quality one with lots of compassion. Than in the A side we find one of the best tracks i listened this year, “easygoing” it’s is name indicated for such sonority, full of good emotions and fully acessible to all. With a well danceable pace and a bassline that makes us remember a jazz impromptu. In the middle of the track an introduction of 4 piano chords, performs fully the wishes of any hearing.
Excelent for a nice shiny afternoon in this rainy winter. On the other side we have “goingeasy” in a more deep tribal style, accompanied by an alternating low line and a melancholic melody.

Anthony Collins – Doubts and Shouts

Freak ‘n Chic begin their 2009 album assault with the much-hyped Anthony Collins and his debut long-player “Doubts & Shouts” in March.
Collins has developed a formidable reputation through his oldschool/new school take on house music and releases on Get Physical, Liebe*Detail, Bang Bang and Freak ‘n Chic have seen support from just about every jock worth their salt.
“Doubts & Shouts” looks set to further that reputation with 10 new tracks which manage to sum up Collins’ dancefloor credentials while equally appealing to a home listening environment.
The Paris based producer has a style balanced between US percussive, almost afro-beat grooves and traditionally European production techniques and melodies which perhaps betrays his upbringing in both New York and the South of France.
Either way, a strong theme runs throughout ‘Doubts & Shouts’ in the form of a combination of unfaltering grooves, atmosphere and frankly astonishing mode production techniques which manage to stand out yet remain subtle at the same time.
Anthony Collins “Doubts & Shouts” is everything a good dance music artist album should be and is released on the ever-brilliant Freak ‘n Chic in March 2009.

We interviewed Anthony to know more about his perspectives on this upcoming release:

Minimaland.com: Hi Anthony! First up, let me congratulate you for the magnificent album you’ve produced. Minimaland listened it and it sounds very very good. How would you describe it to our readers?

A.Collins: Soundly speaking it is a mixture between organic and acoustic elements built around a modern beat

Minimaland.com: Are you happy with the final work?

A.Collins: Yes i am very happy and proud of it, for me the most important is done.

Minimaland.com: Do you consider this your greatest achievement up to date?

A.Collins: In the music concerns, yes by far !

Minimaland.com: Will you “Doubt” it or will you “Shout” it in your sets?

A.Collins: Hooo i will shout for sure! No time for doubts when performing

Minimaland.com: “Prism” and “Substance” are marvelous grooves. They will be very appreciated, by different crowds. But what are your favorite tracks of the album? What were the ones that gave you the most pleasure to produce?

A.Collins: Hmm really hard to pin down favorites.. if i have to choose my top 2 would certainly be : fragile, about faith and tango bizarre. Understand none was more fun than another to produce, but when i finished fragile i knew i found the perfect intro for my album and it was a great sensation!

Minimaland.com: Who are/were your main influences?

A.Collins: Speaking music in general, I’ve always been inluenced by jazzy soundings , soul music, motown period. Concerning electronic music, for sure people like Ricardo villalobos, luciano, the whole perlon or cadenza crew etc.. inspired me! As well as classic house DJs like Kerri chandler, Todd Terry, Theo Parrish to name but a few

Minimaland.com: Tell me a few electronic records which convinced you to try it for yourself.

A.Collins: Its not really particular records that made me want to try it for myself , but it felt more like a logical process after i had been djing for a couple of years

Minimaland.com: Who are some of the current artists that you like?

A.Collins: Tolga Fidan who, by the way, helped me to produce this album and Seuil. Both are close friends and I have to confess they are rocking it !

Minimaland.com: You have been presenting top productions for three years now. Where do you usually find inspiration to create music?

A.Collins: I like a lot listening to music, freash or older tracks among them the promos i receive, the research i do and obviously the old stuff from my own collection! Ideas always seem to pop up at some point

Minimaland.com: In what clubs did you enjoyed playing the most?

A.Collins: I have to say spinning @ Goa in madrid last year was one of my best gig, but also goa in rome, as well as at the underground in ibiza…

Minimaland.com: Electronic only at club or at home also?

A.Collins: At home also ! but of course more chilled down , deep downtempo stuff

Minimaland.com: Do you still use any hardware in your studio, or are you fully digital?

A.Collins: Well I’ve never had any hardware.. Then we could say I am all digital.. for the moment.. cause i am planning some investments very soon

Minimaland.com: How often to you perform live as opposed to DJ sets?

A.Collins: I am only djing.. i love it so much !!!

Minimaland.com: Where do you see yourself in ten years?

A.Collins: hopefully still on a world Tour and making music

Minimaland.com: Does music ever gets separated from you?

A.Collins: Not a day without music , it’s in me..

It’s in us also. Minimaland wishes you the greatest success! Your album is real fresh air in the electronic world. Keep it up.
Cheers

.

Makcim & Managemend – Red Aglet

Remote Area shows up once again to deliver a massive ep produced by Makcim & Managemend. It’s the second production made by this duo from the Netherlands and minimaland can ensure you that this really is something special. They compile the best elements of deep and funky grooves, always with very nice rhythm and perfect knowledge of how to produce an healthy dancefloor turn on. “92 House” and “Red Aglet” (massive track) are the perfect example of their good taste. Beside this sexy funked up jazzy grooves, the 2×12″ release also brings a more disturbed neuro minimal pattern that we always appreciate, taking presence on “Somniphobia” and “Euphobia”… Fearful! Supported by Ricardo villalobos, 2000 and One, Sammy Dee and Cassy. Impressive..

B - 92 House

Audiology – Kleinschmager Audio

fdKleinschmager Audio is a studio project of Joern Kleinschmager (DJ, audio engineer) and Niklas Worgt aka Marek Bois (producer, liveact). Both connected since the late 90s Kleinschmager and Worgt have constantly exchanged their thoughts, concepts and visions about sound in general and club music in detail. Merging the ideas of a long-time DJ with the experience of a studio producer is always a suspenseful undertaking. And often the outcome remains uncertain… But besides talking about music, performing at different venues and also organising their own events a studio project of Kleinschmager and Worgt has never been out of range. It was just a matter of time. In 2007 their first record was released on the Mo’s Ferry sublabel RRYGULAR – named Kleinschmager Audio “audio1″. But this was just a starting point for an open series of DJ tools to be advanced over the coming years. After the release of “audio2″ in summer of 2008 and the latest record “audio3″ in early 2009 Kleinschmager Audio felt ready to work on a full-length album. Drawing a bow over an almost 10 years collaboration they combined outlines from the early sessions back in 1999 with recent ideas, older tracks were polished and the newest pieces were reviewed again to get a timeless touch. Thus making „Audiology” a kind of retrospective and a future-oriented work all in one. At the same time the focus is always on sound, as the album title implies. Like working on a research project it’s about forming an overall sound by scaling each element down to its essence. The album plays around with Minimal, deconstructs Techno, peers at Dub and martyrs House with the inherent structure. Kleinschmager Audio’s „Audiology” is a DJ album as profound as the changes in electronic music within the last decade

Minimaland Feedback: Germany IS minimal!

Mobilee Back to Back Remixes Part I & II

Mobilee Back to Back lovers looking to take a lick from the ladle of Miss Jools’ upcoming Back to Back Vol. 3 compilation CD are in store for some extra flavor stirred in from vol. 3 remix artists, Nick Curly and Efdemin (mobilee 048) and D´Julz and Christian Burkhardt (mobilee 049). This 4 amazing producers deliver some of the most refined mnml u can have! Massive production, unmissable to all our readers

Nick Curly of 8Bit and Cécille Records boldly pulls the background beats of “Diva” forward, creating an explosion of cheerful melody. A central figure of the Mannheim sound, Curly has a knack for fresh releases and trippy sound. The B-side of this teaser welcomes Efdemin remixing „Moved feat. Prosumer“, a track softly bringing deeper, loungy house melodies into swing. While some artists only go skin deep, Efdemin goes deeper with a sense of detail and abstractness. Both artists have finely remixed the cream of the crop of Sebo K’s best releases. ”Diva” (mobilee043) received widespread acclaim from a variety of publications, placing in Resident Advisor’s ”Top 30 tracks of 2008,’ in Mixmag at 25, Beatportal at four and in Beatport as the eighth ranking house track of the year. “Moved feat. Prosumer” was placed at number 14 in De:Bug back in 2006. The carefully hand-picked Sebo K tracks are just an exclusive teaser for what’s in store for the entire CD (Mobilee Back to Back Vol. 3)

tracklisting:

a1. Sebo K – Diva (Nick Curly Remix)
b1. Sebo K – Moved feat. Prosumer (Efdemin Remix)

D’Julz of Ovum, Pokerflat and Intacto Records remixed GummiHz’s 2007 one-of-kind release and turned it into nothing short of a dance floor phenomenon. Of course, nothing less could be expected from a man who has been around the world and back since 1992 playing in the most legendary clubs before the most legendary scensters. D’Julz certainly has the qualification and experience of what it takes to make a party a paaarty!
Christian Burkhardt of Oslo, raum…musik and Remote Area Records took one of Anja Schneider’s more mellow and somber tunes from her spooky Beyond the Valley album, which ranked third in the charts of Groove Magazine, and give it a powerful face lift. The hard baseline and repetitive foot-stomping beat is exactly the kind of techno flair that Burkhardt embodies in his music.

a1. GummiHz – Los Los (D´Julz Remix)
b1. Anja Schneider – Get Away (Christian Burkhardt Remix)
