Larsson, from Berlin, is the producer that initiates 2009 here in Minimaland. After his great success of last year named “Ruanda”, released on Rotary Cocktail Recordings, he got back to his label of reference – Hi Freaks – to produce an enormous Ep. It starts with “Tiny Tools”, a track with a tremendous percussion and a smooth pumpy beat gathered with some hypnotic and tribal elements that give this one a special feeling. It’s a 12 minute journey of the greatest deep minimal you can have. In the b side you will listen a calm “Bigger Box”, a deep enthusiastic track, perfect to enhance the dancefloor expectations or to be thrown in an after-hours session. As usual, I don’t like vocals very much, but the construction of the track makes me forget them in a matter of seconds. The Ep value is definitely in the A side, the B is also nice but it ain’t got the feeling of the first. Supported by Richie Hawtin, Loco Dice and many more.
